Reita Faria was the first Indian to win the Miss World crown in the 1966 and Priyanka Chopra was the last to crowned in 2000. Following the footsteps of former winners like Priyanka Chopra and Aishwarya Rai, Manushi Chhillar at the age of 20 years becomes the 6th Indian to win the prestigious Miss World title. Manushi Chhillar was handed the crown by Stephanie Del Valle, the last year’s Miss World winner from Puerto Rico.

An Aspiring MBBS Student Becomes Miss World
The aspiring cardiovascular doctor from Haryana, dropout from MBBS to take part in Miss World. She was pursuing MBBS from Bhagat Phool Singh Government Medical College Sonepat, Haryana. Manushi Chhillar’s dad is a researcher at the DRDO, while her mom, Dr. Neelam Chhillar is an associate professor and head of neurochemistry at the IHBAS, Delhi. Born to doctor parents, Chhillar studied in St. Thomas School, New Delhi.
